I had better reception using the standard rubber clamp that came with my UV-5R at 2m range. I have two UV-5Rs and used them to do a factory reset, both set to a frequency that I know is a repeater. One 5R had the standard rubber ducky and the other had this antenna. The rubber duck picked up a lot more noise than this antenna. FYI, this antenna is from Luitton and the actual 771 antenna which is the gold standard for portables in the 2m/0.70cm bands is owned by Nagoya. Buy the real deal.
