    Very impressed, got clean!

Very good antenna, I got very good transmission reports and since you can hear the reception the sound is also good and sometimes even better, I even got local converters with it.

    Great antenna, great price!

SWR 1.2:1 or less at 2m over the entire range! I don't have a 70 cm radio to test it with. The antenna is mounted on a round Goodwill pizza pan in the attic of my house. I can hit repeaters 80 miles away with 50 watts.

The performance is amazing, especially for the price!

Used on a Uniden BC125AT handheld scanner. It is 100 times more powerful than the factory antenna that comes with the scanner. If you want to take full advantage of your scanner, spend $10. You will not be disappointed.

    Works great with scanner

I use the Bearcat BC125AC primarily for aircraft and train surveillance and this antenna works well with it. Reception on aircraft frequencies is better than with the small antenna supplied. I haven't tested the RR frequencies, but I expect improvements there as well.

    Pros
    • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
    Cons

Bracket too short/small for standard antenna mount

The L-shaped portion of this bracket that accepts the SO-239 or 3/8 to 24 connector is too small. This will set the connector on the set screw and you will not be able to connect the coaxial cable. Also too close to use a rectangular adapter. The bracket needs to be longer and this is very evident when compared to some branded brackets designed for the same purpose.

VHF/UHF 2M/70CM Antenna HYS-771N BNC Handheld Radio Antenna for ICOM Radio I use this antenna with BNC Female Adapter SMA for quick removal on Baofeng UV-5R and it works very well. Reception compared to the included antenna is day and night and rivals or exceeds the Baofeng Nagoya UT-72 Super Loading Coil PL-259 19" Magnetic Mount Antenna.

The set screws immediately began to rust

I received the AZ50RB dual band mobile antenna. The antenna seems to work well and I like the size. Well, but the adjusting screws started to rust in no time. I received the antenna on May 6th and am writing this review on May 21st. I understand that the antenna is inexpensive, although reckon it shouldn't rust anytime soon. I intend to keep the antenna, but I will de-rust the set screws and protect them from rust.

    Pros
    • Brilliantly made
    Cons
    • Hard to tell

    Excellent dual band antenna

Best value for money. Excellent construction. Close connection. Very low SWR on VHF and UHF. I tested 2 of these antennas on Realistic HTX-202 2m Radio, Realistic HTX-404 UHF Radio and Realistic BTX-121 MURS Green Dot Radio. I found SWR <1.5 on all three radios. For comparison: SWR of the factory ducks > 3 for all three radios. Don't let OCD reviews get to you. Any SWR <2.5 on HT is phenomenal. Premium Motorola ship with antennas with SWR >4.

Tested better than Diamond RH77CA. Buy now!

Excellent antenna for the money. Tested better than my Diamond RH77CA. The SWR is stable around 1.10-1.40 on all VHF. The hardware is more secure and the construction is thicker than the Diamond. It just seems to be the best all round antenna. With an Icom V86 I could hit repeaters at 35 miles at 7 watts no problem. HYS may only be $10, but it works better than $30 on my HTs. This is a good replacement for your rubber duck. Come on, try it, you'll like it.- KO4IJN

Design flaws best applied to accessories

As others have said, the screw interferes with the cables. I had to bend the bracket to secure the connection. If the corner of the antennas were made a little longer, the bolt would not interfere. Other than that, pretty well built with quality design (mostly) and craftsmanship. Update, 2 weeks later - Downgraded because the nylon washer they provided doesn't have enough lip for a proper fit and no second metal washer to distribute. The load on the lock washer applies too great an uneven force

Great product at a great price!

I bought a real Negoya 771 and compared it to these Hys 771 antennas. I don't have any other equipment to measure other than attach the antenna and see what I can pull out. I used them on the Baofeng UV 82. They drew reception almost evenly, but the Negoya was slightly stronger and received a signal that was weak on both. They both appear to be equally strong, time will tell. The hys771 pin is thicker but flexible enough. I will be using the hys771 now and it's a great deal with 3 antennas for…

A good antenna is the best. Antennas

After realizing that my calibration failed on my Nano VNA I have to go through this review again. After proper calibration I found the SWR of this antenna to be quite acceptable. SWR is a little less than 2 on VHF but very low (less than 1.2 on 440) on UHF. Compared to several other antennas I found it to have the lowest SWR at UHF of all. It seems that this antenna really makes a difference on the UHF side, at least on the DMR. However, VHF doesn't seem to be that strong. I will say that I…

Excellent except for one screw that was too big

Most of the reviews here are about antennas, this review is about car antenna mounts. The mount is very stable and looks well made. It comes with an Allen key used to adjust the clamp to keep the antenna vertical. It has one major downside. You can see in the photo that the head of the screw that holds the antenna mount to the clamp is so large that it interferes with the SO239 adapter needed to connect the antenna to the RF cable (both with PL259 connectors). I tried removing the thick washer…
