When renovating my bedroom, I embarked on a kind of odyssey to find the right comforter for me. I find it very difficult to regulate my body temperature. I'm starting to get cold and then wake up very hot, even sweaty despite the open window and fan (in Oregon!). I tried 3 different options: 1) this product 2) an alternative to a Linenspa down filled duvet cover 3) a cotton duvet (no filling, just cotton) from Bed Bath and Beyond that I attached to the duvet cover. Here are my findings: 1) This product: Very light in relation to your actual body weight. That might be fine for some, but I like my duvets to feel a little heavier. I was too hot under this duvet when I tried it in my climate in March. The duvet cover itself looks very nice and comes in nice packaging. The disadvantage, of course, is that the duvet cover itself cannot be washed. Overall, this duvet insert was my second choice of the three options I tried. 2) Alternative Linenspa duvet insert: too hot! I don't understand where all the reviewers are coming from when they say it "regulates the temperature". On a positive note it was nice and fluffy and looked terrible in my linen duvet cover. 3) Zippered cotton duvet in my linen duvet cover: That's what I ended up going for. The blanket is heavy enough to calm my nervous system, but I seriously never overheat with this combination. Perfect for summer and spring. In winter/fall I'll probably still need to put a folded blanket at the foot of the bed to pull it up if it gets really cold, but I'd still take it for the beauty, so no big deal :-) I highly recommend those Try cotton duvet for warm sleepers. The best part is that I only had to spend about $40-$50 instead of $200.
