UPDATE: My son will only sleep in it at night. We live in a warm climate and even our winters are not very cold. He is now 15 months old and will try to crawl in before bed if I don't get him ready fast enough. It was cool in the summer and quite warm in the winter. I've put a small blanket on his bed for him a few times on cold nights (because he's so old and mobile it's not a safety issue for him) and he slept very well with him. I am about to buy our third muslin comforter as it has outgrown his second. love this product! Original post, April 29, 2018: I followed the size chart for my son's weight. I thought it was a little bit better than it was but I think that's how all sleeping bags are made. It also improves breathability. I put his cotton sleeping bag and this muslin on my feet to test the warmth and this muslin definitely stayed cooler than the cotton sleeping bag. My son still sleeps in a diaper but we have used it several times and he is very comfortable in it. Follow the washing instructions to keep the diaper from shrinking. I followed the directions and it held its size and shape. We haven't used it enough to say whether it's durable or not, but so far it seems solid to me.
