As new 2N7000 transistors

Appear as new manufacture, the six I tested were well within production specifications. These will be in my parts bins anytime I need small N-channel mosfets.

  • These are a great deal for the money.

  • These seem to work well. No issues

The ones I checked in a breadboard circuit all worked

I tested about 15 and they all switched a 25 mA LED load with 3V square wave at 135 kHz on the gate. I recommend these 2N7000 Mosfets for DYI and Hobby projects.

Use as electronic switches

Though there are many uses for these running linearly, these are typically used as "electronic switches" in a "saturated mode". Take for instance you want to to drive a device that needs more current than an Arduino can provide. You can use these as external switches to supply the current needed to drive the device (motor's, large LED's, etc.).

  • Limited Application: The 100Pcs 2N7000 TO-92 Sic Mosfet N-Channel Transistor by Chanzon is only suitable for low-power applications due to its limited current handling capacity. This makes it unsuitable for high-performance applications that require higher currents

May Need a Level Shifter

They do their job well. If you're using a 3.3v gate (GPIO) with a 5v source/dump, you'll need to use a level shifter to bump your gate voltage to 5v - otherwise you'll see a significant drop, too much on the sensor circuit for GPIO on the other end of the circuit.I was being pretty dumb with these trying to troubleshoot my problem (which I eventually solved with the level shifter), and only shorted one of these out - they take quite a beating before giving out.Overall, I'm pretty satisfied.
