That's pretty much what I expected. I have two gerbils and they seem pretty comfortable inside and they don't gnaw their way out. I haven't taken them anywhere yet, but I left them there for more than 15 minutes to test, and they never started chewing anything. As always, put something inside that will keep your little pals entertained or they'll keep looking for a way out. It doesn't look like it will leak inside, but put something on it just in case, and it will be more comfortable for your pet. More than enough space for two gerbils! The only minor downside that I wasn't expecting was a solid dark brown color with light green doors, which wasn't one of the color options I've seen for this product anywhere. It has star windows and I believe it's exactly the same except for the color. Inside vinyl, brown with turquoise dots. It's still pretty cute, but I wish it was more colorful. I'm very happy with it though :) It's so cute and functional!
