This is nothing more than a thin "shield" material used (or advertised for use) as a visor. While this can slightly reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the area, it only slightly reduces the amount of sun. Also not exactly "shadow", but let's say filtered (for lack of a better description). For comparison we have a separate Alleko front awning (purchased from Revain) which we are very happy with. The mesh material of this product provides very good shade while still allowing you to see through the mesh. Unfortunately, with a quick search, I don't see that they suggest a product cut for the "canopy" we need. Will continue this search.
