Updated September 14, 2020 - another star removed. After sitting and thinking for a while, although TrueCable is gregarious as a company, they did nothing other than what the company needed to do to sell two faulty products back-to-back that cost me money to install to the installer . I was in the item return window so I could definitely just return the item. I would; However, give them an extra star if you honestly admit they screwed up. This is my third TrueCable purchase. The first few purchases went well. However, I recently decided to build a 10G network, which is indeed the limit of Cat 6. however no further. Quality/good Cat 6 cable should support 10G up to 55m/180ft or so. In fact, my first purchase of 150+ feet achieved that. However, this time the cable was completely unusable at about 130 feet, say at 100Mbps. Less distance, only 5 Gbps. Obviously a 100Mbps connection to Cat 6 is not acceptable, but even a 5Gbps connection less than 100ft is also unacceptable in my opinion since we are going to buy a Cat 6 cable. If you If you only want 1 Gbit/s, you don't need Cat. 6. Cat. 5e is sufficient. Such a possibility should always exist, otherwise we will pay for a falsely advertised product. Good customer service Now from time to time I see that there is a chance ie. Unfortunate that you received a defective product. This is inevitable in any type of business. How they react to such a circumstance, i.e. customer service, is very important in this situation. I would give TrueCable extra stars for that. They replied very quickly, very professionally and in detail. They assured that they would help me to see first if there are any troubleshooting steps that could fix the problem. Otherwise, they send the new article that was in their first email, which is great to hear. They didn't wait for my item to be received from their end first, they sent me a replacement first while they worked on the return shipping which was to test/confirm that the cable was indeed defective. Turns out I have a coil. The one I received was actually defective and supposedly failed all tests when checking the rest of the cables I sent back. They were surprised that I could even overclock on such a coil. Since I hired an installer to run these cables, it already cost me many times more than the cable itself. Since this is not a lie from the installer, I had to pay him again to replace all these cables. But luckily I was a little wiser this time. I asked the installer to actually insert the first, longest cable before moving on to other cables. This way I can test the new/replacement cable I received. I was very disappointed, upset, but at the same time grateful that I did this because the result was actually another defective cable. Luckily, I had another Cat 6 cable in my house, so the installer tried to route it to make sure it wasn't connected to my home environment in any way, such as a wiring harness. B. Strange interference along the cable routing. This new cable worked great. So it was clear that it was another defective coil. I can see that a bad coil is a mistake, but two consecutive defective cables is either an astronomical mistake or, more likely, the company's very poor quality control. I ended up paying the installer twice because they had to install everything twice. It could have been worse if I didn't check the first run on the second install. Recommendation 1: Personally, I would stay away from TrueCable if you hire someone else to install and deliver the cable yourself due to the high number of defective devices. It may cost much more.2. If you still want to use this cable, I highly recommend running and testing the first (the longest cable) before installing another cable. At close range, the problem may not be noticeable.3. Test with iPerf or other means beyond gigabit as a cheap cable connection tester or even a Fluke MicroPoE Verifier didn't detect the problem for me. If you think you only need 1Gb/s and don't care about NBase-T including 10G then this might work, but it might still cause a problem. But the reality is that for such a person, Cat 6 is not needed. Just buy a Cat 5e and save money or at least get the sustained speed promised. I couldn't even get 1Gbps over my 130ft cable where Cat 5e can travel twice the distance. If you look to the future again, I will not trust this company's product quality control.
