Review on Dorman 604-224 Auto HVAC Blend Door Actuator Suitable for Specific Car Models by Thomas Drew

I have had excellent results with other Dorman branded parts. This should be avoided. Buy the Ford version instead. Maybe even take apart a new Ford part and add some lube before installing it. The original Ford part has worked for 10 years. This Dorman part worked great for 3 months and then failed miserably. This is a very difficult part to replace on the passenger side of a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid / Mercury Mariner Hybrid. This should be designed as a replaceable part of the service - 10-15 minutes maximum. The dashboard has to come apart to get to this engine - I can't do it in 10-15 minutes. The original brakes lasted longer than this part. Shame on Ford. The problem is compounded when you buy a cheap part to replace the original. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this Dorman part.
