Closures hanging around were bitten off in the first few minutes of wearing. Once you tighten the boot, the extra rope just dangles around, which ends up bothering the dog. The plastic clasp has a small spring inside and some small metal parts so I wouldn't leave it unattended. I removed the whole fancy part and now I just tape them over the foot with tape. You slip when you walk, but it's definitely better than getting hurt by another foxtail.
