Well it's not Sony in terms of sound quality OR external speaker reception, but costs less and has some positive qualities. Lighter than the Sony and the silver color makes it easier to find in my visually impaired friend's backpack. The black model has a contrasting white print for the controls, which is noticeably easier to see than the Sony black and white print. Slightly weak sound from the built-in speaker, but good with headphones. Great battery life. Cons: Terrible reception even with the antenna extended, but worse, you won't stay in the station when you finally tune in - even without changing location. Give it a try and you will regret not paying a few dollars more for a famous brand.
