Review on πŸ’‡ Remington HKVAC2000A Vacuum Haircut Kit: Ultimate Hair Clippers & Beard Trimmer Combo (18 pieces) by Pamela Bellancoutt

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Initially dissatisfied. Just take a look.

My first vacuum trimmer was a Philips Norelco QT4070 in 2012 that finally died in 2015. I then replaced it with another QT4070 which lasted until 2017. to clean up the scraps of the vacuum function that broke down on both trimmers within a month. I used tape or rubber bands to hold the door in place. I have a Remington Vacuum clipper and I really liked them so I decided to try their trimmer instead of buying a new Philips Norelco 7200 Vacuum at twice the price. long beard I used to keep my beard at around 8mm and sometimes went down to 6mm when my face was itchy. My last cut on a QT4070 was set to 8mm almost a week ago. Setting the Remington to 6mm didn't seem to cut anything, and what was cut seemed uneven. To be even, I dropped to 4mm. It's okay because I can rock stubble too, but I prefer a thicker beard. My hair and beard is quite coarse and a bit frizzy/wavy, so it's possible the hair just got bent under the blade and couldn't reach it. We'll see when it grows back (to cut off the end of the hair, not the "middle"). It's also worth noting that it came almost fully charged. I plugged it in less than an hour before charging. If you really must, you can crop right out of the box. Pros: 1. It came with various trimmer attachments, a small razor and even a nose hair trimmer. They all seem to work with the vacuum function. I like it.2. The vacuum picks up at least 25% more hair than my latest Philips Norelco.3. I love how you take the hair collection system off and throw it in the trash instead of the whole trimmer. I tend to "tap" hair and would rather do it with a tiny piece of plastic than the whole trimmer. Cons: 1. Adjusting the length on the adjustable comb is more cumbersome than on the Philips Norelco dial. It is also adjustable in 2mm increments while my Philips Norelco is adjustable in 1mm increments.2. When I first used it, it didn't cut either. (My beard type never fits. Will be updated.) First conclusion: Now if you're looking for a great vacuum stubble trimmer, I can attest that this one is good. It's already cheaper than the comparable Philips Norelco and has some additional features that the QT4070 and 7200 don't have, increasing their cost. I'll check out the beard cut when mine grows out and update the review. Update: I've had the trimmer for about 20 days now. I can't get a smooth cut over 6mm with it. The ridge in front of the blade is a bit more pronounced than the Philips Norelco. I think what happens is my wavy curly beard sticks to it and comes off the blade. Since it has a 2mm setting instead of 1mm, you won't be able to clean your beard as often as it grows, either.
