Review on Ameritex Waterproof Nonslip Recliner Cover: Stay in Place, Ideal Furniture Protector for Pets and Kids - Beige, 23 inch by Rebecca Arrington

About a year ago I bought a copy of the Stressless or Scandinavian recliner. I liked the chairs but couldn't afford the retail price of $1500 for one. Instead, I bought a recliner of a similar design in "faux" leather for half the price. I thought I was a savvy consumer, but as history goes, you pay for what you get. To my dismay, the "fake" skin began to peel off like severe sunburn on the skin. The chair was still functional and comfortable, but the "faux" leather was falling off in larger and larger pieces. I tried covering the chair with a blanket and sheet but it didn't look good and wouldn't stay in place. Looking for something to cover the "faux leather" I found a cover for an AMERITEX lounge chair. I was apprehensive about buying it because it was NOT designed for my recliner, but I didn't have any other options. When I laid AMERITEX on my recliner, I was pleasantly surprised by the fit. It didn't fit perfectly, but well enough. I looped the elastic cord between the seat and back cushions to attach the AMERITEX cover to the chair. This kept the cover from coming off when I got up or shifted in my chair. The elastic tension rope is NOT visible on AMERITEX. If you find yourself in a similar predicament, I recommend getting an AMERITEX cover, but do not rely on the AMERITEX pictures on the recliner to determine if it will fit your chair. All chairs are different. Instead, use a tape measure and compare your chair measurements to the AMERITEX slipcover size chart on the Revain seller page. If you do this, you will know how and if it will fit your chair. You'll also learn whether you need to buy a 23-inch or 30-inch case. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I just received it and I'm not sure if it will hold up. However, it seems to be well made.
