These knobs are very well made but I (68 year old female) spent a heck of a lot of time installing them because the fit was EXACT - and I couldn't muster my fingers to install it on my Mercury like our Ford Ranger which was a breeze even for me! No, I had to resort to that universal car tool that everyone has on hand and uses when all else fails - my hammer! Gently convinced the knob moves straight and stays on, and now I again enjoy the choice of low, medium, or high fan speed when the heater is on in our 1996 Mercury Sable. I'm a happy tourist again!
