Revainrating 4 out of 5

Poor ergonomics but otherwise works as intended

My biggest complaint about this is that the 4-way directional button on the main unit is too small and you end up unintentionally (and constantly) hitting the center "Accept" button when You don't want to - making this a device that you have to hold with two hands to operate (unlike most remote controls). The 4-position control switches also require a hard and direct press to register. My second ergonomic complaint concerns the battery compartment on the receiver. Normally the wind spring goes to the bottom of the battery. That's what I thought, and I couldn't get the power. I finally figured out that I have to follow the microscopic label that shows the orientation of the battery in this device. I connected it to my camera and tested some of the functions. I've used remote controls before and it's not intuitive, but if you read the user manual carefully, you can better understand how they chose the interface design. I really like that this is a WIRELESS remote so I can stand for family photos and start the camera without a long cable. I just wish designers could spend a few more days thinking about thick-fingered photographers like me who struggle with tiny buttons and tinier instructions.
