I bought these because of the size and the good reviews. It's worth it. it's so quiet I accidentally ripped a cable out of my first one, 100% my fault, not the pump. So I ran to petco to buy an air pump. In the end I settled on Tetra Whisper. HA. The whisper is a joke. That thing was sooo loud. I had no idea how great a USB air pump was until I settled on the Whisper. TWIST EYES. I ended up buying a replacement USB air pump after running the Whisper pump for an hour and the first two day delivery was a LONG WAIT. Also, this little thing is very powerful. The current is too strong for my bettas. I had to buy a double air valve to release some air. I can't imagine not using them. I think for large tanks I would just buy a few and find out. Love it.
