Review on FIRST HILL FHW Topstitched Upholstered by Joe Daniels

Luxurious my ass. works well on furniture

I am NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED with the quality of this stool. I wouldn't pay 50 for it let alone more. Maybe 20 on a good day... but no, actually I wouldn't. The problems started after I unpacked all the parts and took the legs out of the box. 1. The holes in the legs are not fully drilled. I had to chop off the remaining wood.2. The bottom of the stool where you attach the legs is a splinter. Now I understand that this part is not visible later, so why bother to finish the wood properly? ...Riiiiiighht. Looks like a kid made it in his garage which is an insult to kids. The tree is not only unfinished, but also at awkward angles. It's really so embarrassing that... 3. ...one of the pieces of wood that you screw the leg into was set at the wrong angle. Anyhow, I think so, because the holes in this leg matched the holes in the other legs, and the holes in the wood seemed to be lined up the same as other pieces of wood, and yet, 1 of the 4 legs from the hole they matched NOT together, it was VERY difficult to install hence the leg does not come out at the right angle. The stool is still standing! But what a garbage.4. There were NO ADDITIONAL parts and one washer was missing. Instructions: a) helpfully take parts out of the box, b) assemble them, then c) place them. You'll have to look very closely at the picture of TINY TINY to figure out whether or not the legs go down with the long, sloping side, and the order in which the washers go on the bolt. This thing is ROCK HARD. The pillow is not a pillow. I hardly want to put my feet on it, I certainly wouldn't sit on it. The luxury of my ass. I am shocked at such an inferior item at this price. You could probably make something at home that would hold up just as well and be a lot more comfortable. Even with its wobbly leg it looks good, so yes I could use it as a table... but it's so low it doesn't seem practical. But I was strongly tempted to throw everything in the trash as I ran into problem after problem during construction. Garbage. Not recommended.
