Review on πŸ§‡ Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel 2-Slice Belgian Waffle Maker with Browning Control, Indicator Lights, Non-Stick Coating, Compact Design (26009) by Michelle Larsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super cheap and easy but works great

I had a challenge making keto or low carb waffles, puffs and the like. But I needed a basic, inexpensive iron to try them out. I have ordered another budget single 4 inch manufacturer but it should have taken a couple of weeks for a back order to arrive. So I ransacked Revain and found this little guy. It wasn't overly expensive, didn't require a lot of frills, and had a simple slider to indicate heat preference. Also, he makes two at a time instead of the one I was originally going to order. I'm so glad I got this one instead. When you first get it you need to wipe out the inside and after that I sprayed some oil on the panels. Regardless, the surface is non-stick unless you scratch or use abrasive cleaners. The device is simply plugged in and it works. Just be careful not to overfill it. I did this the second time I used it and after that I had a fun mess that needed cleaning up. However, the result is excellent: thick, light, fluffy waffles. Photo shows keto waffles (from the ready mix I bought, also from Revain, best waffles, no syrup needed). They were average and still soft and fluffy but firm enough to hold and eat without a fork. Cleaning and storage is also easy. It closes and stays closed and you can mount it vertically in a closet. I got what I paid for. The entire body of the device is made of metal and WILL BECOME HOT when plugged in. There is no switch. Once you plug it in, it will go. Therefore, be careful when approaching the metal body of the device. There are light indicators at the top to show it's on and warming up. The metal housing was a bit worn in places, but I didn't notice that visually. It's purely functional.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
