Review on πŸ”΄ Laser Collimator for Telescope 1.25inch & 2’’ Adapter, Bysameyee Calibrator for Newtonian Reflector Telescope Collimation by John Collins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No more boredom - accessories for telescopes and microscopes

Lasers make everything more exciting! The collimator has a variable brightness beam (from 1 to 7) adjustable by turning the ring at the end of the body. At higher powers this allows daylight collimation, however after tuning from 3 to 4 the beam is distorted into a short line rather than a round dot. At lower magnifications it becomes perfectly round. The beam is almost perfectly aligned, only the faintest edge appears on the target's white screen, but the adjustment holes are rubber-coated. Someone braver could probably line it up perfectly with a utility knife and a steady hand. The collimator is powered by a CR2032 battery, which comes with a 1.25" to 2" adapter for owners of 2" focusers.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Reliability
