Picky about headphones. I want the highest accuracy I can get, but no more than $100. As a drummer I have three or four songs with great sounding drums that I use to judge the quality of headphones and over the years I've struggled to find a pair with the right balance of clean highs that don't sound harsh . or tinny (snare drums and cymbals) and solid, clean low frequencies that aren't boomy and dirty (bass drums). , more than double the noise-cancelling ability of any regular pair of headphones I've had. Perfect, comfortable fit from the moment I put them on. When I played my favorite songs, I got the clean highs I wanted. . . but not below. Curse. . .Wanted more bass. Before sending it back, I ordered a pair of WZK in-ear headphones with "High Resolution Heavy Bass" for comparison. Pooh. What a joke: a perfect example of false advertising. Sent them back straight away and left the Granvelas because of the superior comfort, great heights and perfect price. Then a pleasant surprise followed. . .The more I used them, the better they started to sound: the low frequencies that I was missing started to assert themselves. break-in period? May be. Retrained my ears? However. After about a month of constant use - two hours of training hikes in the desert, steps and runs to my playlists' BPMs - I feel like I've found my holy grail of great-sounding, super-comfortable headphones at a modest price. . (Also: Great for air travel. Eliminates airplane noise and baby cries.)
