Almost instant relief

The ingrown toenail I'm treating isn't extreme at all. Her only symptom was pain associated with certain shoes and in bed at night. I considered going to a local podiatrist to try the braces, but then decided to do it myself. I have to say it provided almost instant relief. I put it on shortly after she arrived so I wore it for about 2 weeks. My plan is to grow it out and put a second one behind it to make sure the whole nail grows in the right position. It was clear that the application would be painful. The nail/superglue is difficult to use without gluing yourself. My solution was to cut the clip to length, sand the side to be glued, sand the surface of the clean nail, and then use tweezers to trim the strip. This worked fine and I used a piece of plastic wrap to hold the mount in place while the glue cured. This saved my fingers but there are glue stains on the surface of the nail. Important Tips: Be sure to measure the strip. Cut it and file the corners to round them off. Mark the spot on your nail where you want to place the strip. It's a lot easier than looking at it with your eyes. Hold the strip with tweezers while you apply the glue. Prepare a piece of cling film to use once the strip is on the nail. Place the strip and then cover with plastic wrap. Strip position and remember to hold the ends for about a minute until they stick to the nail. Make no mistake in positioning the strip correctly and sticking it to the edge of the nail that is most ingrown.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
