They do NOT look synthetic at ALL! My mom and sister got them and loved them so I decided to get a pair and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! They don't leave those little hairs all over your face like those cheap little brushes do! If you want to clean them, pour some hot water into a container large enough to hold all your brushes, add some dish soap, makeup remover, and rubbing alcohol. Mix everything together and then add brushes. Rinse the dirty part of the brush with water and squeeze the water out of the part of the brush that has hair. Then leave the brushes in the mixture for 30 minutes to 2 hours or until you are happy with the results. When satisfied, wring out the water and air dry for best results!
