Review on ⏰ Enhance Your Timepiece with the Original Youngtown 12888 Chime Pendulum Clock Movement - 2 Sets of Hands Included! by David Merculief

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Recommended for the patient.

Used to replace the insides of very old mechanical watches. The instructions weren't that clear. I got a good sound by gluing the speaker to the three protruding screws. The mechanism is thin. Don't force anything. Be careful with clock hands as they bend very easily. The pointing mechanism, hands, clock numerals and bell must be synchronized. This can be a problem, so be patient. Ideas to get everything in time: 1) Brut Force: Once everything is in sync, move your hands and wait for each tune to play. Takes forever. 2) Just after 6:00 (real time): Take out all the batteries, use the wheel to adjust the hands to 6:00, you will put all the batteries back. The bell and clock must be set for 6:00 am. Now only a small adjustment is needed. 3) Not tested yet: Remove the batteries for the bell. Synchronize the movement of the hands, hands and numbers of the clock and set the time with the adjusting wheel. Install bell batteries. Use the "Set" button on the bell to jump to the correct hour. (But again, that's just a theory.) All in all, a nice project that brings an old family airloom back to life.
