I ran five tests to see how long it would take to copy files to one of these flash drives. I copied over 4.7GB, 9.5GB, 20.1GB, 40.3GB and 55.8GB. Read my review below to see how quickly files were copied during each test. Test 1) I copied 4.76GB of video from my computer to a flash drive. The computer prompt showed it would take approx. 10 minutes done. I also set my timer to confirm accuracy of how long it REALLY takes to complete the transfer. Once this was done, my timer indicated it only took 9:31 (9 min 31 s) to finish. So it was just a tiny bit faster than the computer had suggested. During this test I didn't do much in the background - I opened a few files for a few minutes and that was it - while the transfer was taking place. Test 2) I copied over 9.57GB of video to flash memory. Drive. The computer display indicated that it would take approx. 27 minutes to finish. I set the timer again to confirm how long it would take for the transfer to complete. Once the transfer was complete, my timer said it took 19:27 to complete. So it was about 7 minutes faster than the computer had approximated. I didn't do much in the background - I opened a few files and that was it - while the transfer was in progress. Test 3) I copied over 20.1GB of video to a flash drive. The computer indicated an estimated time of 30 minutes for completion. I set the timer again. During this test I ran in the background. I regularly opened files and uploaded files to my server. My timer said it took 38:15 to complete the transfer. Eight minutes above the computer result. Test 4) I copied more than 40.3GB of video to a flash drive. The computer showed it would take about 1 hour. My timer was set again to confirm. In this test I TRANSMITTED UP TO 44% OF THE WAY OF THE WAY OF THE WAY IN THE BACKGROUND, then I stopped working on the computer entirely. While working on my computer, I opened files and published them to my server. My timer counted down the time it took for the transmission to complete at 1:13:08 (1 hour 13 minutes 08 seconds). Thirteen minutes via computer score. Test 5) I copied more than 55.8GB of video to a flash drive. The approximate time it took the computer to complete the transfer was 1 hour and 10 minutes. My timer has been reset. This took about 1 hour. 39 mins based on my timer. This is approximately 29 minutes longer than the computer estimate. I might be a minute or two behind because as soon as I pressed the timer button to stop, my timer would reset. I have no idea how it happened but luckily I noticed the time on my timer at 1 hour. 38 mins just before the transfer should be completed. I did almost nothing in the background. I opened a few files in Google Docs on my computer and that was it. Here is a summary of how long it took to copy files of any size: 1) 4.76 GB (9 mins) 2) 9.57 GB (19 mins) 3) 20.1 GB (38 mins) 4 ) 40.3 GB ( 1 hour 13 minutes) 5) 55.8 GB (1 hour 39 minutes) One thing to note if it's a bit important, I deleted the previous files on the flash drive before each new transfer . So every time I started with a blank flash drive. I don't really think it (mostly) makes a difference if you have the files on the flash drive when copying new ones, but just in case (since I don't know anything about these things) I thought it was worth mentioning. On average, the write speed was 7-10 Mb/s. Keep in mind that the time it takes to do this can vary a bit from user to user, but you can get a pretty good idea of how fast flash drives are. The above results only reflect testing one of the flash drives. I received the disks. I haven't tested the other to make sure the results match. So the flash drive is pretty fast and fits my needs. I was expecting to pay a lot more for flash drives with very fast read and write speeds, so after reading other positive reviews I chose this option instead. I'm very glad I did this. He exceeded my expectations. I hope this review will help you make the right purchasing decision whether these flash drives will fit your needs or not.
