A few weeks ago we reluctantly bought several of these bags in hopes of stopping or mitigating the water seepage that always accompanies snow. We placed two HydroSacks inside, next to the door and threshold where we constantly got water from the snow. Flood bags weigh about 1 pound but absorb about 40-50 pounds of water that slowly seeps over several days. When dry, the bags look more like a small rug or rug, but when exposed to water, they swell into a large pillow. Attention, we tried to use them outside but unfortunately they froze as soon as they got wet, but inside they were our salvation; I only wish we had bought a box of 24 instead of just four.
