I bought this for my daughter's 19th birthday. She loves retro. I bought 3 albums. Saw a few for prices ranging from $70 to $200. I chose this one because of the looks, the many features, the portability and the price. The excellent price allowed me to purchase multiple albums and a wall mounted album stand. The disc under the plate is just awesome! Bluetooth was a must in the decision. The original sound quality is just okay, but it's definitely not terrible. But it's great that you can add external speakers, which we haven't tried yet. The analog FM radio on the side is really cool. It glows vintage/matte yellow, and when you're in full reception, the bottom half glows green. from the CD it pushes hard. Which makes me nervous, it might break or something. I really wish it was a lot more durable, but since most things are MP3 and Bluetooth I don't know how often it will actually use the CD part. If she were an avid CD user, I'd be a little nervous. The portability with the carrying handle is great. After trying it for a while, she immediately packed it up and went to her friends. As a college student living in an out of state dorm, this was important to my purchase decision as she travels extensively. If I were to remodel I would definitely make this purchase again. Great price, great features, nice product.
