Quite good, but I expected more from it.

Changed AIR 2022 LL/A to this 2022 model on September 3rd. For I did not understand how 2022 differs from 2022 - I settled on this model. Everything is relative, right? so the review will be comparative. I still have Air - I gave it to my daughter - the machine plows perfectly. Keyboard: Definitely the next Mac will be LL/A + engraving again. The PCT keyboard is hell. So I’m thinking about whether to exchange with someone for exactly the same new one, but LL / a I don’t play games for no - there is a prefix for this - if you wish - you can run Windows 10 + stream games from the prefix. IMHO - nothing really special - a beautiful laptop with a set of problems that, like on any other, have to be solved.

Pros
  • Advantages compared to Air: 1) 2 TB outputs (I really need them) + HDMI are vital elements for me. 2) The screen is really good - I immediately switched it to the "More space" mode (because for this I decided to change Air) 3) 16 GB of RAM. 4 GB for Mac OS is sooo small. MacOS is already better, but still doesn't handle memory very well. Therefore, it was very worthy to stick 16GB of RAM. 4) Built-in sound. I will not say that he is divine - because this is nonsense - because. implemented on a regular Intel HD, but the speakers are located in the right place, so everything sounds very tolerable. 5) Processor - the advantage of a powerful processor can only be felt on serious graphic and audio projects, when this power is used. 1.3 AIR was enough for me. 6) Force Touch - it's great. In general, the touchpad itself has become more sensitive (even to touch!) - by the way, the sensitivity of pressing is adjustable - it's nice. Plus, there is a second level of pressure for previewing pages - you can turn it off in principle - but in my opinion an extremely convenient feature - when you work with search engines.
Cons
  • 1) Brakes. Not really a slideshow, but when viewing pages with a bunch of graphics - everything is very intermittent. There is no such thing on Air, but there is HD4000 and i5 1.3, against Iris PRO + 2.2 i7. 2) It is heated - and it is heated, I will say not weakly. Especially if you put it on a "marble" table or the like. Naturally, in such cases, as a consequence, it specifically slows down. Since 2022, the key problem of "machines" on the i7 has been overheating, and it was possible to grab it easily and naturally on a completely new computer. And the thing is that Apple's fan control is configured for maximum user comfort - i. E. to achieve minimum noise performance - and this is ~ 1500 rpm. 2022 rpm is actually not much noisier - but they give some margin in temperature. In general, I recommend the smcFanControl utility. The less the laptop heats up, the longer the battery and the laptop itself will last. The funny thing is that AIR has a smaller case, but there are no such problems. 3) Battery life. Air up to 10 hours, and in the video mode 720 Rip - 6.5 hours calmly. Pro up to 7 hours of surfing to squeeze out of PRO is unlikely to work in screen mode with a maximum permission - because for the sake of it everything was bought - otherwise what's the point?. Well, there are a lot of poppies in the family - in fact, that's why it's full of chargers - so I boldly dragged one to the office. 4) The keyboard - the disadvantage is not specifically of this model - but of the PCT versions in general. The most ridiculous Apple development is the short left Shift, thin and awkwardly located Enter. Duplicate square brackets, duplicate angle brackets, Ё in the place where it is not needed (Enter would be just there), a tilde under the little finger of the left hand, exactly instead of a long Shift, and put symbols that no one ever uses in the upper left corner. In general, all those who have tried normal keyboards will understand me.
