Review on Sanus VLT16 B1 Premium Tilt Mount by Jessica Thomas

Broke during installation

Let me start by saying that I have bought and installed about 6 different Sanus mounts in my life. I love them and keep buying them. but this one is below average at best. The problem with this is that they used cheap plastic safety catches on an all-metal mount (I've included a picture of my broken catch, it's hard to see, but the circled area shows the broken plastic part I'm describing). The safety latch is a really important component that prevents the TV from accidentally falling off the mount and being crushed by your child trying to hold onto it. So this is important. I don't understand why they only skimp on that part of the mount. In my experience, I ended up installing this TV and hanging it exactly where I wanted it, but when I pulled both security cords to move the TV and route the cables, one of the security latches clicked. Spring flew, broke in half, broke. OK. not perfect, at least I still have a bolt, maybe that'll do. Guess what happened the next time I tried to pull the bolt? Yes, the second one broke just like the first one. Unfortunately I've waited over 30 days to install this thing so I can't return it. It's sitting on my desk in anticipation of a garbage day. I was eventually able to use another mount I had and didn't think it would work in this space, but with a little ingenuity it works fine. I wish I had tried that first before wasting money on this junk! Don't buy this!
