Sphygnomanometer (Blood Pressure Cuff)

As far as the product's quality, it seems to be first-rate from the meter to the bulb, including the cuff, hoses, carrying case, and instructions (the screwdriver and calibration control are especially great to have). That being said, I assumed this product came with a stethoscope. You CANNOT use a manual blood pressure cuff without a stethoscope! This is like buying a brand new Camaro with no wheels. I contacted the company (Paramed) and they quickly emailed me and were very kind. As I told…

Pros
  • Easy to use, great for everyday bp monitoring
Cons
  • The screen on the and bulb is to big and does not allow for the cuff to inflate.

Excellent and Affordable Blood Pressure Cuff!

My wife recently underwent shoulder surgery, after which her blood pressure spiked. We had to start monitoring it at home. We had an old Sprague Rappaport stethoscope and cuff with which we used to monitor our daughter's lungs (they had cystice fibrosis), but the bulb was useless after sitting for so long. After a fair amount of research, I chose your cuff.Your cuff is easy to use, even though the person using it (me) is not as practiced as he once was. But, your instructions are clear and…

Pros
  • The strap makes this so much easier to use!
Cons
  • Unsuitable for use on pediatric patients

You get what you pay for

The first time using this cuff the inflator bulb came off and continues to come off, so it had to be taped. The sphygmometer needed to be calibrated fairly quickly. The cuff actually adheres to itself fairly well; however, I will not order this particular cuff again.

Pros
  • I was skeptical because of the price. So far so good. Reading seems accurate.
Cons
  • May be difficult to operate

The inflatable part comes out sometimes

This is great cheap buy for learning how to take a manual BP. But I work in EMS and would not work for in the field. That's my feedback.

Pros
  • Excellent
Cons
  • Cuff size may not fit everyone

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Cheap but decent for my opinion

The cuff clip broke off after a few uses and it is much more difficult to use. I would recommend buying a cuff of higher quality

Pros
  • Unlike many sphygmomanometers, there is no loop to clip the gauge onto.
Cons
  • Bulb may deflate too quickly

Previous EMT - Excellent Cuff - Even for self use

7/25 UpdateLike others have said, I had some concerns about accuracy so I decided to calibrate the gauge to check for accuracy so I built a simple calibration stand to measure the pressure applied to the cuff in inches of water and compared that to what the supplied gauge was saying. I've attached the data and you can see the accuracy is about 1% which is outstanding and should put to rest any concerns of accuracy. This solidifies this as a definite buy for any purpose, including professional…

Pros
  • Lightweight and portable
Cons
  • May not be covered by insurance

I don't see how they could get any better.

I liked the bright, shiny look of every component of the unit. This tool has obviously been designed by engineers experienced inthis type of product.

Pros
  • Paramed
Cons
  • Universal cuff may not fit all forearm sizes

Not easy to use good for me

I followed the instructions but I still did not get the result it I expected. This is for nursing school so hopefully my lecture can help me with how to use it.

Pros
  • Large, easy-to-read display
Cons
  • May require frequent cleaning

Blood pressure cuff

I really like the paramed aneroid blood pressure cuff, the only thing I dislike is that there is not an attachment to hang the gauge. Other than that it is a really great product!

Pros
  • Compact carrying case for on-the-go use
Cons
  • Not recommended for fieldwork

Worked great for school

I ordered this for nursing school & for the price — you can’t beat it! I love that it came with a little carrying case. No warranty information included.

Pros
  • Stylish pink color
Cons
  • No warranty information included

The meter worked for exactly ONE week

It worked fine for one week, then the needle on the meter would stick at about 117 and wouldn't rise any higher while pumping up the cuff. It will stay frozen there until I deflate to less than that level. Luckily I have spare meters that still work else I'd return it. So far the bladder hasn't sprung a leak to I'll keep using it with the spare meter. Seems accurate.UPDATE (25 April 2022)The seller contacted me and said she was troubled by my review and would like to set things right, and she…

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • The gauge numbers may be too small to read

BP Cuff for the first time

I recently purchased this because I got accepted into nursing school and they advised us we needed a manual one for labs. It took me forever to choose one and I finally decided to go with the one Paramed offered. The first one I ordered though seemed like someone had used it and returned it because it was not in well condition so I returned it and reordered another one. The second one that came in was MUCH better and in brand new condition. I did that because I wanted to make sure my equipment…

Pros
  • Bought it to keep track of my boyfriend's blood pressure.
Cons
  • Difficult to read the gauge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than my old one

Works just like any other blood pressure cuff. Some are better than others but this one is good. I can easily read it while taking blood pressures.

Pros
  • Sphygmomanometers
Cons
  • May not meet accuracy and precision standards

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good for practice!

Great for beginners to learn on! The cuff itself is a little smaller than most cuffs I have worked with and because of that it has a tendency to read higher. Other than that it is a great little practice one! Even has a clip on the gauge for easy reading! And the carrying case is very coinvent!

Pros
  • Features a shock-resistant design
Cons
  • Not recommended for people with clotting disorders

Low Cost Accuracy: my feedback

I received this cuff the same day and was thoroughly impressed with the quality, especially for the price I paid. I had ordered it and a dual tube stethoscope because my old automatic cuff had become wildly inaccurate. When using this new cuff my BP readings came much closer to being in the controlled range. When I was using the automatic cuff they were out of range most of the time. I had a Doctor appointment the next day and took my new manual cuff in to see if it was close to the Doctors…

Pros
  • Order was 3 days late, but item is easy to use and read
Cons
  • Not recommended for people with arrhythmias

Doesn't come with everything and it's cheaply made.

IT was fairly cheap and it doesnt come with the stethoscope, but I knew that. However, it's cheaply made and I don't trust the accuracy. Pretty hard to work with but I guess its okay in a pinch.

Pros
  • Compatible with a variety of stethoscopes
Cons
  • May break easily from consistent use

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Didn’t like the pumping

I thought for the money this would be good, but having to pump and hold still etc wasn’t easy. If your doing your BP by yourself, get a battery/electric one. It’s much easier. I only used it once, so I don’t have a real opinion on accuracy.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Bulb may develop leaks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good item to have for my opinion

It is easy to use. Its accuracy is good compared to the electronic device, they were matching. Does not require any battery or electricity so perfect to use anywhere. but learn first how to use it and have a statoscope as it is not included

Pros
  • Take your blood pressure kit anywhere: neatly packed in carrying case that will keep your blood pressure cuff set intact during all your travels, this lightweight kit is handheld and portable
Cons
  • The carrying case may be low-quality

Accuracy and easy to use

I recently purchased this sphygmomanometer for my work. I had also bought a short time ago a digital wrist BP cuff which was giving me a lot of difficulty obtaining readings. Seemed to always get error. This led me to buying your cuff which I love. It's easy to put on with the D ring and fits well.I feel I was able to get accurate readings every time.I've been a nurse for 45 years. I'm retired but work prn because I enjoy it and the clients and my coworkers. There's nothing like the Aneroid BP…

Pros
  • No stethoscope in the set: stethoscope is not included
Cons
  • Not ideal for use in high-stress medical settings

Do not buy---Revised

Update: The company emailed me and sent me a new cuff, free of charge! I thought that was fantastic. The new cuff works perfectly. I think I just ended up with a defective one. I now do recommend buying from this company.Original review:The cuff is about 20 mmhg off even after calibrating it. The needle does not move until you're about 4 or 5 pumps in and even after getting it to zero out it still would not move until about 5 pumps in. I bought it for clinicals and it absolutely sucks and there

Pros
  • D-ring for easy cuff application
Cons
  • May be too expensive for some consumers
