I bought this to clone my 128GB SSD in my new Surface Pro 7+ (Plus) to my new and working WD 1TB SN530 NVMe PCIeSSD CH enclosure, the Pro 7+ has an upgradeable cover for the SSD The back is similar to the laptop hard drive covers on the bottom. I asked first and people said it was cloning. Macrium refused to use Macrium Reflect Free. The IT department said it's a USB drive with a module that allows it to work with 2TB drives, so that's not it? programs and files. I'll try EaseUS Todo and TrueImage just to see. I've cloned many SSDs that were smaller than the HDD. In this case, I cloned 128GB into 1TB! The case is beautifully designed and my new 1TB snapped in and I was able to initialize the drive and format it as a new simple volume. So after the failure I will try again today with another software. I used the included USB-C to USB-C cable and it's fast! So I'll keep it because I can read these new discs and it actually works for reads and writes. I will write to the company and see if there is a firmware update that will allow this, but the system sees it as a USB flash drive and multiple systems, if any, are cloned to one. Windows needs to see the disk and not the flash for cloning. I can end up returning it as I can get a 128GB flash drive for less or the same amount after I put in the old small 128GB drive to be replaced. I already have 256GB and 128GB flash drives, so this becomes redundant. If it doesn't get cloned then it's a waste of money for me. has been dealing with Microsoft DOS, DRDOS and Windows since the first PCs appeared in the early 1980s. Computers and was an ISP in the days of dial up so I'm not new. I've been building networks and computers for SOHO since its inception, in the US Air Force and beyond after I retired. If anyone else is in the same boat, just do as Microsoft does, and once the SSD is up and running, I've already created a system image using Windows 7's system image tool. If all goes well, I can restore the current image to a new one SSD using a recovery disk created with this current image before modifying it. I've already created a Microsoft Image Recovery Disc, I'll just leave all my options open. long haul. Photos from my Surface Pro 7+ show it reading fine but the errors Macrium throws when I try to clone it. I clicked "Learn more" and the last picture is the reason. When I'm done I'll update if I find out.
