Despite the lack of reviews, I decided to buy it because I wanted a reliable cassette player and it looked promising. So far the MCR-250 has lived up to my expectations. I haven't bought a cassette player and haven't played it in over ten years. I don't have any comparisons to the sound quality, but personally I think it sounds great. The overall feeling is strong. It doesn't have the cheap gimmick vibe of some of those retro music boomboxes that are gaining popularity. The radio worked well and I was able to get a clear signal without fiddling with the antenna, so that was a plus. A few minor cons: you need 6 C batteries (not 4 as advertised) if you don't want to plug it into an outlet. The fast forward and rewind buttons are marked with arrows pointing in opposite directions. I'm not sure if this is normal, but I had to make sure they were working properly, which they did. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and the price. I highly recommend.
