Works great in manual mode.

I had very old tapes that I wanted to convert to digital. This product is very suitable for this. I love the fact that it's a standalone device so I don't strain my computer while recording - just insert the flash drive and copy the files. I found that the "automatic" mode (which is supposed to create separate files for each track) didn't always work. To get around this, I used "manual" mode (creates one large file for the entire cartridge). Warning: since manual mode does not stop when the…

Pros
  • Flexible battery or USB

Small but relatively efficient for converting cassettes to MP3

A marvel of miniaturization, this compact device is designed to convert cassettes to MP3 files. After spending many hours learning how to use it, my own experience is that miniaturization has become overused to the point where it has become difficult to use. My biggest concern is handling the cartridges themselves. It's difficult to tell the direction of the tape because the tape changes direction in different ways. A couple of times I accidentally pressed a button that reversed the playback…

Pros
  • Playback Only
Cons
  • New Competitors Emerge

Recording of a cassette or AUX input to a USB flash drive with a standard type -A full-size jack. No computer required. The sound quality is good. It can play and record in any direction and has an auto reverse function. It can be powered by either two AA batteries or the included 5V 500mA power supply cable via a USB power adapter (not included) or via a USB port on a computer. I just used 5V 500mA current from a 2A 5V AC adapter. I do not recommend using AA batteries. Typically, AA alkaline…

Pros
  • Automatic or manual recording
Cons
  • Not as thick as other guitar picks
