Review on Villeroy & Boch Classica Metallic Tablecloth by Juan Wilson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Linen is not an easy fabric, but if you are comfortable with it then this is a great quality.

CONS: 1) After washing, the laundry needs to be ironed to look like the product photo. The crumpled look doesn't go so well with the sophisticated style of this tablecloth. 2) Stains are not easy to remove. If you opt for light-colored linen, you may find yourself changing the tablecloth often or living with stain residue (tomato sauce, anyone?). 3) Clumps of tufts are inherent in linen fabric. By "villi" I mean areas where the fibers have gathered and don't look as smooth as the surrounding areas. I use a lint brush to tame these balls. 4) Color dove gray is not gray at all. It is cream or almond colored. ADVANTAGES: 1) Villeroy & Boch is a quality brand and this is underwear of the highest quality. The hemmed edges are beautiful. If you're ok with the cons, consider this purchase. If you want a tablecloth for less money, don't buy linens. I ended up converting this tablecloth into an extra sheet! This is especially useful in hot summer weather like now. Sizes are similar to a double top sheet or perfect for one person. Not liking the dove gray color, I painted the pattern onto the fabric using the "shibori" (a type of Japanese tie-dye) dyeing method. Now I like my sheet very much, but I didn't find it usable as a tablecloth.
