A month later I noticed that after changing the water, a film was growing on the water surface very quickly. Then the shell began to cloud over. The film looked like a very thin sheet of plastic, and I'm pretty sure it was. Very disappointed with this bowl. I expected it to hold up better and not hurt my fish but it's not doing well due to shell wear. Unfortunately it is too late for me to return the money. If you are smart you will not buy this bowl!
