I am a quilter who mainly makes quilts with a sewing machine. Last year I started a hand-sewn quilting project that I work on in the evenings. I also hand sew all of my bindings to each quilt. I bought this lamp mainly because of its good size and amount of light. We booked a cabin in the White Mountains and I brought my hand sewing project with me. Cabins aren't famous for their lights! I'm sooooo glad I didn't comment on the overall stability of this lamp. I just put a small, light object on the cable, that goes into the base of the lamp while I work. The light is the best I've ever had and didn't have to buy a much bigger product. As I sew and use it for different types of projects and sometimes jigsaw puzzles, the flexible arm is a huge plus! A happy quilter has arrived!
