We have 5 of these bags, one for each horse and the bags have quickly paid for themselves simply by saving on wasted hay. We live on feed and have a free choice of hay in ground-level bins, but it's impossible not to waste a lot and with stubborn keepers it's difficult to really gauge how much they're eating. The bags hold nearly 3/4 of a 60 lb bale and weigh about 45 lbs on average. My lighter horses eat a full bag in a day and a half with only a few handfuls of chaff left in their troughs. NO hay is wasted. My heavier horses eat a full sack a day with no waste. My more robust horses are low maintenance and my low maintenance horses are thinner and both look great and much happier, think NO STRESS with feeding. Refilling is quick and easy and after a few months of use they're still like new. The pins on the ties will fall off and the ties will stretch, but they still work fine. We now feed one bale less ($$$!) each day than before as our herd's hay is not wasted. 8. We also have a derby full bale bag and small hanging bags for the smallest members of the herd. Buy these bags, you won't regret it!
