This short ramp is the solution to getting our 65# and growing Golden Retriever safely into the side door (instead of the tailgate) of our Honda Element. The height between the ground and the bottom of the car may or may not be steep depending on where we parked. This lightweight ramp fits snugly on the rear seat floor, even with the front seats folded. If necessary, I extend the ramp, lure the dog with a treat and that's it. Due to the metal latch that locks my car doors, I need to make sure the ramp is securely fastened in the doorway. Most cars don't have this problem. One thing I found with slight disappointment is that the ramp I received does not have a carrying handle (see photo), although the box it came in says it has a built in pen and drawing has on the box. also suggests that this is the case. Since I rarely have to carry it around, I don't consider it a deal breaker. Another point to note is that there are tiny pieces of plastic inside the ramp that move and make noise when the ramp is moved. That doesn't detract from its properties, but I'd rather not.
