I haven't worn slippers for along time but I thought it was time. I was so excited when they arrived. Unpacking the slippers and trying them on gave me a surprise. When I tried them on I thought I bought a slipper too small. In the toe area they hit something hard. I stuck my hand up that area and found something really hard. I couldn't figure it out. I finally to pull on it which wasn't doing a single thing. I finally got a screw driver and went in for the battle. Finally it came out. It was tissue paper and it would be impossible to open it up. It was hard as a rock. Now getting it out of one slipper took about half an hour and I still had one more to go! I believe that they were used to keep the round shape in the toe area. They are well made, I found no flaws. They care very comfortable and warm. I thought maybe my feet would get hot as they usually do but they didn't. The only time I don't wear them is when I am bathing. I am disabled so I am at home most of the time. Which means I wear these almost 24-7. I ordered the red and it s as it appears. I just love these!
