Good light with a few shortcomings

Good light. I've had him for 2 years now. I ride mountain bikes and road bikes, but most of the time I use it as a headlamp for heavy nighttime outdoor activities. I'm a "Lumens guy" and I love bright lights. I didn't measure the power output, but compared to my other bike headlight clips, it's bright enough for me. I threw this on our ski boat as I thought we might risk docking after dark. This light is bright enough to work in an emergency. It has several downsides: 1. Others have pointed out the lame handlebar mounting system. You are right. What I did to combat the downward bouncing light while driving was to mount the light UNDER the steering wheel instead of on top. The lantern is more stable from below as it is essentially hanging, and it is more stable as it cannot be lowered any further.2. There is no compensation for the tension of the wire coming out of the mount, especially when attached to the included headband, the wire coming out of the mount will be bent at a 90 degree angle as it exits the mount and will be severely stretched. After 2 years of use the light stopped coming on. I have basic repair skills for many things, so I took the lamp apart and found that one of the power leads had actually come loose from the soldering on the circuit board. I resoldered the connection and then secured the zip tie tightly around the wire in the lamp housing. Now a tight tie will withstand any tension when you pull the wire. The zipper connects to the wire exit port and prevents the wire from being pulled onto the circuit board. It hurt a little but I made it.3. The battery life suits me. Loads fast. As others have said, do not leave the flashlight plugged into the battery when not in use as it will drain the battery very quickly even when it is off. I just turn off the light when I put my bike away and it holds the charge. I agree with other reviewers that if you are a driver who drives in the dark a lot this light may not suit your needs and you should spend the extra money. just because the mount is flimsy and bounces the light. For a few bucks this company could easily get a better mount and a 5 star light. It fully meets my needs. I've attached a photo of the disassembled light showing the broken white wire. I'm sorry, but I didn't photograph my renovation for you.
