Received this today and was surprised at how light it is. It's not brass or copper like most other fasteners. I admit my mistake in assuming it will be brass when it doesn't say anywhere. Judging by the weight, it's aluminum. I'm not sure what the Sony A7 bracket OEM metal part is, but I don't think it's aluminum. The whole point of the swap is to remove the plastic part of the mount and use a stronger metal to make the lens mount more secure. I don't have a lot of faith in it and right now it's not going to happen with my camera. If my A7 mount breaks, I have that as a backup. Otherwise, I don't see this as a big "upgrade" from the stock camera.
