good bike if a little heavy

We bought this bike for my daughter who was switching from a balance bike. She could ride it on day one and loved it. it has coaster brakes (foot brakes) which the internet seems to be a little bit divided on - some people hate them, some people have learned how to use them. count me in the last group. We are happy with this bike, although we are aware that it is heavy. Obviously this is a cheap bike that can be sold at major retailers, not a children's bike - if that were the case the bike would be lighter and easier for children to brake and ride. This is an important consideration when buying a children's bike and for our next bike we will probably choose a more expensive bike with a handbrake. It is important that the children's bike is lighter, accounting for less than one percent of the child's weight, to facilitate movement and braking. The trade-off of buying a cheaper bike is that the manufacturer doesn't take this into account - they just want to make the cheapest bike to sell to a big retailer. if that suits you, then take this bike.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not bad but...
