My experience with the Effaclar Micro Exfoliating Cleansing Gel for Very Imperfect Skin. Let me start by describing my skin. I'm 30, I have black dots, single inflammations, and enlarged pores; my skin is oily in the T-zone and dry in the cheeks, the sides of my nose, and the corners of my mouth. For two months, the gel was applied twice daily. The skin has become visibly less oily, smooth, and tender to the touch; after all, it is not called micro-exfoliating for nothing; the pores have shrunk; and any preexisting acne has completely vanished in as little as two to three days. I no longer use scrubs, therefore this gel has been quite helpful. After all, it's the salicylic acid and zinc in there that do the trick. My husband's dry, troubled skin also benefited from the gel. He also tries it out on his back, where it seems to work even better. Effaclar gel has a thick gel consistency, a mildly distinctive odor, and a clear hue. Very little is used up, but a substantial amount of luscious foam is produced from only a single drop. A refreshing coolness is experienced during washing. There is no tightness or dryness after washing. The gel cleans with minimal scrubbing. I have the 200-milliliter version, which comes in a squeeze tube with a flip-top lid; the larger, 400-milliliter bottle has a pump. The tube's flat base on the lid allows me to stand it on end for easy access. The quantity used is so small that my husband and I were able to share the gel for two months before we ran out.
