Review on πŸ”’ Bunk Slick Tie Down 86170: Efficiently Glide and Secure, Black, Standard by Richard Orozco

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great upgrade to a carpeted bunk.

Exactly what I was looking for at a great price. They are suitable for the narrow side of a 2x4 or 2x6 berth. There is another model of floor boards that lie horizontally. They are very smooth and appear to be very durable. Leave the winch strap or turnbuckle attached until the water is directly in front of the water. These things are so slippery that if you stop too hard on the ramp, some boats can skid instantly. Won't retain dirt like carpet and scratch the case. They don't need to be dipped to make them as smooth as a carpet. They don't hold water on your bunks like a rug, thus extending the life of your bunk life. They can be laid over carpet but then you still hold water against the wood. If you don't like the look of bare wood, paint it. I doubt they are better than similar airframes from other brands, they all seem to be made from the same materials, I picked them for price. Some kits provide an end piece that overlaps the back of your shelf board, something like an "L", you don't need that. If you load correctly, your boat won't touch the end of the bunk until you're fully on it, or maybe even when you start getting it out. If this is the case, you are not backing up far enough, which puts undue stress on the trailer, body, and transmission. They also use too much energy by dealing excessive damage to the end of the ramp.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad
