I didn't mount it the way it was recommended because I wanted the bracket to be in the middle/bottom of my Tesla console and not in one of the corners. So my biggest problem was that the suction cup wasn't sticking. It lasts a day or two and then just falls off. It might have worked if I put it on the corner, but it didn't work in the middle. So I had to buy some 3M sticky pads, remove the suction cup liner from the mount (3M won't stick to it) and trim the edges of the suction cup so the sticky pads reach the console. If you don't trim the edges of the suction cup area, the 3M pads won't be thick enough to really hook into the console. After I did that, everything worked PERFECTLY! It's very strong and everything works as it should. I tried another mount on my console and it turned out to be very fragile and couldn't hold my phone on small bumps in the road. This mount could hold my phone very firmly. I would give it more stars if it had an adhesive mount instead of a suction cup and if the base was more rectangular instead of round so it could be mounted anywhere on the console.
