Review on Garmin Premium Heart Monitor Strap by Patricia Jordan

UPDATE - crashed in 4.5 months --- Many improvements over the original with caveats

UPDATE AUGUST 2018 - crashed in 4.5 months. A Garmin watch strap broke and was left unused throughout July while awaiting replacement. Unfortunately, a new watch strap and suddenly Garmin Vivoactive can't find this heart rate monitor anymore. changed the battery - a manufacturing nightmare with 4 smallest stuck screws that only a jeweler's screwdriver can do - only to have the same problem which HR couldn't find. WTH. Would I then try another new battery just in case I put the old one in? but i lost one of the 3 screws, and the 4th is needed to access the battery. I'll call Garmin tomorrow and they'll take it back. For $45 this thing should last you more than 5 fucking months. this is unacceptable. Garmin has greatly improved the design over the previous model, but the sliding hooks, which took me a month to learn, detach easily. def cause delays. It's a hundred percent more comfortable and syncs when I hold my hand at arm's length from my Garmin watch. In contrast to the previous model, it fits under a bra strap without any problems. I still think this $50 thing could be developed using the old model release method. but this module seems more cryptic about where the batteries go. so far it has been pretty accurate.
