Locksmith remotes didn't work but these

This remote worked (was able to program and use it) although the professional locksmith remotes didn't work. First the locksmith brought his own set of key fobs and tried to program them but failed :-( Thought I had reprogrammed a few other types of remotes for my other cars, might try this Honda too. And (after a few failed Trying) I was able to program the two new key fobs he bought here to the instructions on the card that came with it (applies to the 2008 item): 1. Start by getting into the car and locking the doors with the central locking on the Unlock driver's door Then start the process outlined on the website referenced in the instructions 2. If you have an existing remote start with that In my experience the programming process didn't activate properly until I did it with an existing one , working remote (I was able to program all new remotes normally once the activation sequence has started) 3. Use the UNLOCK button during the activation process and programming instead of the lock button on the remote control. All in all I got it working, its range is about the same as the original remote and the price was definitely worth it. (especially since a locksmith would charge me about 4x that)

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • For an old 2008 Honda Element
