I bought this cable to connect my laptop to a USB-C hub. This cable had the qualities I was looking for: long enough to keep my laptop away from the hub, fast data transfer over that distance, and a rectangular connector for my laptop. As you can see in the first picture, there isn't much space between the side of my laptop and the wall. The right-angle connector means I can place my laptop where I want and not worry about kinks in the cable. It just looks cleaner. Speaking of placing my laptop where I want it, I wanted to place it about six feet from the dock. The dock came with a three foot cable, but I had a nice long USB-C cable (12 feet I think) so I figured I was in. Not correct! The laptop was not recognized and there was not even any power transmission. I thought I might be unlucky. Then I found, bought and plugged in this longer cable and was pleasantly surprised. Not only does everything work, my laptop seems to be more nimble when connected to the docking station than with the original cable. This cable is also very strong and looks durable. It's braided and reinforced and just really strong and durable. I've only been using it for a few days but I think it will last a long time.
