Mediocre Quality, Low Price

Pros: Low price, DVD/VCR combo. Cons: Poor screen quality, quirks. for very occasional DVD watching. We learned how to do it and he does it pretty well, and the price (about $55 including shipping and all) was right. It records only the top half of the screen in color; the lower half becomes black and white. Maybe it's because we bought a refurbished model. It can only be programmed for 8 recordings at a time. It can be sparse if you have a lot to write down, but it's fine for most people. The DVD player appears to be working properly. We didn't use it much. Remote control: 100 similar buttons that change their effect depending on your mood. If you could use your previous VCR, you can take a look at this one. This operation has some peculiarities. When programmed to record something, the Timer button turns on the VCR. When it's on, the power button turns it off so it doesn't record. Pressing the timer button again turns it off and starts recording. If you would press the power button to turn it on, it would turn on the DVD; To control the VCR, you must press the DVD/VCR button. I think.
