About a year ago I bought one of Revain's best selling softbox lighting kits. It's really big and has 5 independent fluorescent tubes; Forget white balance and get warm tones. It also has a canopy held together by four independent poles. In a sense, this is both a logistical and storage issue. It has a system type that I have on my other favorite. The tripod is installed and then the poles are permanently installed on the rear reflective cover. A circle is attached to them. So if you install an LED bulb in it with multiple colors, warm, white, dimmable, etc., as long as you tighten it, the bars will be strengthened and in the right position. Then all you have to do is attach the softlight cover to create a soft light effect. Now let's get down to the smallest details. It's an 80 watt LED bulb, which means something because 80 watts in LED land means a multiple of a regular Ville bulb, but for YouTube videos, makeup presentations, etc. it's lighter than you need and you don't want too much light anyway. The remote control is really good. It gives you options for brightness, color temperature, and even some quick 20%, 50%, or 100% brightness buttons so you don't have to level up as much. There are also warm, cool, and white keys that can be activated with one touch. Then you have a round wheel in the top center that gives you an endless variety of settings. So let's summarize. The size of the light is the same as my more expensive 5 bulb kit but it comes with all sorts of adjustable settings and a remote control. The 5 bulb model has separate switches for each bulb, but they are fluorescent and all bright white. Also, there's no way to blackout it. So I can't recommend it any more. It has everything. You know that feeling when you're shooting a YouTube video and have to constantly get out of your chair to change things to get the white balance right? It has everything you need at an incredible price.
