This radio packs a lot of features into a compact package. In my opinion, offering 5 power options including 2 battery types and a solar panel is fantastic. In addition, the easy-to-use handle generates energy when other energy sources are depleted. SOS horn, red light and weather alert capabilities, and multiple power sources are important aspects of an emergency radio. In addition to being used in an emergency, the radio offers practical functions for hiking, camping, picnics and at home. usage, etc. Features include multi-band digital radio, headphone jack, 2 light levels for reading and flashlight, convenient strap and clip, key lock to prevent accidental changes, and the ability to charge a dead cell phone battery. In general, I would recommend NOAA's inexpensive weather radio for potential emergencies and general use.
